What do our Guests Say

All four seasons there is something going on in Newport. I have stayed at the Mill Street Inn 3 times now and every time I like it more and more. It is centrally located in downtown Newport close to all the shops and restaurants on Thames as well as the sites on Bellevue. It is even close to the beach with just about a mile drive.

The first time we stayed here we had the large room with the conference table on the second floor. Although this room did not have a balcony we still enjoyed the spaciousness and high brick ceilings. The second time we stayed in one of the town house set-ups. The room consisted of a living room on the first floor and a master suite upstairs with a balcony looking out to Newport Harbor.

In the summer breakfast is served on the roof deck, which is a great spot to hang out and watch the sun set. In inclement weather there is a small dining room in the lower level of the building.

The rooms are extremely clean and the staff is always happy to suggest a great place to dine or call and book a reservation for you.

I have booked a few of the weekend packages, which includes a bottle of wine, tickets to the mansion and a gift certificate to dine at one of the local restaurants.

I highly recommend the Mill Street for your Newport experience. Make sure to book ahead!

My boyfriend surprised me with a long weekend in Newport, so I had absolutely nothing to do with the choosing of the Mill Street Inn. But it was PERFECT. The location could not be better. It's a 2-minute walk to all the shops, restaurants, the wharf, movie theater, EVERYTHING.

The inn itself is more of a modern hotel than a typical inn. It's got a small-town vibe from the outside (cute, brick building)...but the inside is streamlined, modern, cool, and clean. Everything is wood, brick, and stainless steel. Bathrooms are huge and the shower is unbelievably great. ALSO--worth mentioning--the beds have pillow tops on them. i could have slept for a million hours.

Lastly, another thing worth mentioning is the complimentary breakfast served every morning on the roof deck (it's gorgeous up there) as well as "tea time" (tea, coffee, and cookies--yum) served everyday from 3-6.
